SciDataCon 2021 is part of International Data Week (IDW) 2021, which is organised by the International Science Council’s Committee on Data (CODATA), the World Data System (WDS) and the Research Data Alliance (RDA) from 8 to 11 November 2021. Session proposals for SciDataCon 2021 can be submitted until 30 April 30.

The 16th edition of the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) will take place in virtual format on 19 April in Edinburgh. Ingrid Dillo, deputy director of DANS, will speak at the conference.

On 25 March, three useful tools for heritage institutions were launched by the Dutch Digital Heritage Network (NDE). These Dutch tools are: Wegwijzer Digitale Duurzaamheid, Wegwijzer Voorkeursformaten and Wegwijzer Certification.

On 10 and 12 May 2021, the SSHOC Open Science & Research Data Management Train-the-Trainer Bootcamp will take place. This bootcamp is one of the pre-conference events of the IASSIST 2021 Global Virtual Conference (GVC), which will take place from 18-20 May 2021. DANS is task leader for the Train-the-Trainer activities within SSHOC.

In early March, the Dutch dataset ‘Continu Onderzoek Burgerperspectieven 2019 – COB2019’ was published Open Access. Via EASY, the dataset can be viewed and used.

Under the banner of the EOSC-hub project, in which DANS takes care of disseminating good data practices, over 80 Israeli participants were introduced to FAIR data, open science practices, and the developments around the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

On 15, 16 and 17 March 2021, the Netherlands will vote in the Dutch general elections once again. In EASY, a large number of data are available on previous national elections.

In cooperation with the repository managers of scientific institutions and the many researchers in the Netherlands, 900,000 scientific publications are now accessible via NARCIS! In ten months’ time, this database has grown by 100,000 publications.
