The magazine E-data & Research, available only in Dutch, is full of success stories about sharing and reusing research data. Soon the October issue will be delivered, this edition is already available via edata.nl.

From September 20 – 23, 2021, the third edition of the Open Science FAIR took place. At this international conference, an initiative of OpenAIRE, various topics around Open Science were highlighted. DANS was also present as an organizer, speaker and participant in several workshops and sessions.

On September 28, the second edition of the DANS Data Trail took place – an online series covering various topics around Research Data Management and Open Science. In this meeting, the road to Open Science and the implementation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) was on the agenda.

From September 7 to 9 the annual DARIAH event took place. DANS was involved in hosting the event.

ELSST is a broad-based, multilingual thesaurus for the social sciences. On September 14, the latest version of the ELSST was released. DANS contributed to the Dutch translation.

On 29 September from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST, the webinar ‘Assessing the FAIRness of data holdings: Using F-UJI to make your repository more FAIR-enabling’ takes place.

From 19 to 22 October, iPRES 2021 will take place in Beijing. It is the 17th edition of the international conference on digital preservation. DANS will also contribute.

September 23, DANS Honorary fellow Professor Richard Smiraglia gives a lecture on Knowledge Organization and Structure in Musicology. Together with Peter Doorn (Senior Researcher at DANS) and Gerard Coen (Research Data Management Specialist at DANS), he designed an observatory for KOS used in the SSH domain, which also analyses those who provide Knowledge Organisation Systems as a (web)service.
