On 25 March, three handy Dutch tools are launched simultaneously to keep digital information sustainably accessible. These are ‘Wegwijzer Certification’, ‘Wegwijzer Voorkeursformaten’ and ‘Wegwijzer Duurzaamheidsbeleid’. As of this year, the ‘Wegwijzer Certification’ is maintained by DANS.

Thursday 28 January marks the start of Poetry Week 2021. Initiated by Poetry International, the last week of January in the Netherlands and Flanders is traditionally devoted to poetry. Via EASY, data about poetry can be found and reused.

With seven academic journals in the field of social sciences and humanities, the open access platform Openjournals.nl was launched today. The platform is made possible by a collaboration between the KNAW, NWO and the OPUS Foundation. DANS strongly encourages this initiative.

On 18 January 2021, the Data Infrastructure Capacity for EOSC (DICE) project was officially launched with an online kick-off meeting. The project is funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the EU. DANS is also involved in the project.

The FAIRsFAIR Roadshow visits the Netherlands on 2 March. In collaboration with LCRDM and DANS, FAIRsFAIR presents a programme with several FAIR elements.

On January 21, SSHOC launched the beta version of the SSH Open Marketplace. DANS participates in the SSHOC project within the Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA).

On 27 January the 2Doc documentary ‘De Sobibor Tapes – de vergeten interviews van Jules Schelvis’ was broadcasted. The complete interviews can be found in the thematic collection: Sobibor Interviews 1983-1984, available via EASY.

The database “Pupils of the Amsterdam Maritime Institute 1792-1943” is available via EASY. The file contains data on recruits of the Maritime Institute during the period 1792-1943.
