During the 16th edition of the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) on 19 April 2021, attention was drawn to the (un)satisfied user within open research data and the preservation infrastructure. The content of this presentation can be read in the recently published blog post.

During two half days on 14 and 17 June, ODISSEI, CESSDA-ERIC and DANS will organise a workshop on research data management for researchers in the social sciences. Registration is open as of today.

At the RDA Virtual Plenary 17 (VP17) on 23 April 2021, a workshop on priorities and international alignment for the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) will take place. DANS deputy director Ingrid Dillo has been invited to participate in the panel.

Since 2019, DANS has been a member of the Global Dataverse Community Consortium (GDCC). Together with the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) at Harvard University and the Odum Institute at the University of North Carolina, DANS was involved in the creation of the consortium, which currently includes more than 30 institutions across five continents.

The open access trend in archaeology has flourished in recent years. Eight years ago, the large archaeological companies such as BAAC, RAAP and ADC were the first to opt for more flexible access rights: 99% of the 100,000 archaeological datasets at DANS are now directly accessible.

On April 14, DANS will provide two presentations on FAIR and TRUST for the Division of Chemical information track.

SciDataCon 2021 is part of International Data Week (IDW) 2021, which is organised by the International Science Council’s Committee on Data (CODATA), the World Data System (WDS) and the Research Data Alliance (RDA) from 8 to 11 November 2021. Session proposals for SciDataCon 2021 can be submitted until 30 April 30.
