The United Nations has declared 11 February as the international day of women and girls in science. Over the past 15 years, the global community has put a lot of effort into inspiring and involving women and girls in science. Yet women and girls lag behind in participating in science. The National Open Science Festival takes place on August 27, 2020 in Wageningen. An Open Call for sessions has been announced on Februari 1st.

The Week of Poetry traditionally starts off with Poetry Day, on the last Thursday of January (January 30th). Poetry Day, organized by Poetry International Rotterdam since 2000, is the poetry festival of the Netherlands and Flanders. In EASY data about poetry can be found and reused.

The international day of manuscript is celebrated on January 23. The Handwriting Development Platform created this day to draw attention to handwriting – something that is done less and less in the digital age. EASY also contains data about manuscripts.
