Irene Garcia-Martí and Marga Koelen of ITC Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation at the University of Twente have ensured that the number of data sets accessible through the online archiving system EASY has risen to 100,000.

The KNAW organises the Academy Grant Week 2019 between the 5th and 7th of November. Several workshops and lectures are elaborate on making your research proposal stand out in the crowd. These workshops and lectures will take place in the Trippenhuis in Amsterdam.

The World Federation for Mental Health has issued October 10 as World Mental Health Day. This day annually focuses on paying attention to mental health issues. The WFMH aims to raise awareness among the general public, increasing knowledge about psychological problems and combating prejudice and encouraging people to seek information and/or help. EASY contains several data sets on mental health, with which additional and new research can be done.

The fifth week of the new open online course: Delivering Research Data Management Services has started successfully. Week 5 focuses on roadmaps and the development of your own specific roadmap.

Every year on October 4 it is World Animal Day. On this day, extra attention is paid to animals all over the world. There is also a lot to be found in science about animals, for example when you search for “animal” in our online archiving system EASY: 1,771 datasets.

The NARCIS science portal continues to expand in 2019. NARCIS has recently started providing access to the research data that SURF Data Repository offers online. This caused the number of data sets in NARCIS to increase by almost 700.
