Saturday 28 September 2019 is World Deaf Day, which aims to draw the attention of the general public, politicians and development authorities to the performance of the community of the deaf and hard of hearing. In EASY various data can be found regarding deafness.

The NARCIS science portal continues to expand in 2019. NARCIS has recently started providing access to the research data that SURF Data Repository offers online. This caused the number of data sets in NARCIS to increase by almost 700.

Dr. Canan Çakirlar and Esther Scheele received a KDP grant in 2017 for their project: Van Giffen’s Dogs. A financial aid to ensure that a collection of biometric data of 488 dog skulls were digitized and published in EASY.

The fourth week of the new open online course: Delivering Research Data Management Services has started successfully. Week 4 focuses on repositories: certification, metadata, sharing and legal issues.

Recently, the NARCIS science portal has displayed a so-called “Altmetric icon” in a large number of publications. This icon indicates which citations these publications have on social media.
