DANS is working on an online self-assessment tool for users to teach them about FAIR data usage and to increase general awareness.

This fall, Research Data Netherlands (RDNL), Digital Curation Centre (DCC) and the University of Edinburgh organize the online course ‘Delivering Research Data Management Services’ for the third time. The MOOC starts on October 5th.

The autumn course Essentials 4 Data Support is an introductory course for those who (want to) support researchers in storing, managing, archiving and sharing their research data.

The World Digital Preservation Day will take place on November 5, 2020. With the theme “Digits: for Good”, World Preservation Day 2020 is an opportunity to connect the digital preservation community.

SSHOC now invites applications from Social Science and Humanities repositories interested in receiving support in achieving CoreTrustSeal certification. The deadline is extended to the 31st of August 2020.

On July 30, the International Day of Friendship takes place. The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. In our digital archive EASY, datasets and publications about friendship can be found and reused.

On September 3, DANS and LCRDM organize “Food for Psychologists”, an online event especially for researchers in psychology, with tools, tips and tricks in the field of Research Data Management and data sharing.

At the end of April 2019, DANS, the Software Sustainability Institute (UK) and the Netherlands eScience Center, organized their third workshop on the sustainability of software. The Workshop on Sustainable Software Sustainability focused on everyone who makes, purchases or maintains software, in particular in science and the heritage sector. The report of this workshop was recently published.
