Funding possibility for researchers in the NWA route ‘Levend Verleden’

25 January 2022

Within the Levend Verleden route of the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA), several interesting funding opportunities have opened up. These are the call for Small Projects and the call within the programme line Research along Routes by Consortia.

In the Small Projects call, a maximum of EUR 300,000 per project can be applied for. The deadline for this call is 5 April 2022. In the programme line Research along Routes by Consortia (NWA-ORC), consortia can register an initiative before 1 February, after which a matchmaking event will take place in March.

DANS as a project partner

DANS is the Dutch national centre of expertise and repository for research data. We are certified for the sustainable storage of data and advise on Research Data Management, FAIR data and Open Science. Based on this expertise, DANS is often involved in projects regarding digital infrastructure in the Netherlands and internationally.

An example of an approved project from the ‘Levend Verleden’ route of the National Science Agenda is the “Constructing the Limes” project, in which DANS takes care of the storage and accessibility of research data. If a project involves very specific or new types of data, DANS can coordinate the development of optimal data formats and standards, such as for the three-dimensional data in the Pure3D project.

Good Research Data Management can increase the added value of a project enormously. Therefore, in the European Horizon 2020 project Polifonia, which implements a digital ecosystem for European musical heritage, data experts and archive staff of DANS provide an innovative, iterative data management process.
