Also in EASY: poetry

23 January 2020

The Week of Poetry traditionally starts off with Poetry Day, on the last Thursday of January (January 30th). Poetry Day, organized by Poetry International Rotterdam since 2000, is the poetry festival of the Netherlands and Flanders. In EASY data about poetry can be found and reused.

For example the dataset “Over lezen gesproken 1990: Sociale differentiatie in leesgedrag“. It contains data on reading (and the frequency of reading) in the Netherlands, including poetry. The data in the data set about background variables ensures that this can be compared to different population groups.

Another dataset concerning poetry is the dataset J.A.S.: Lyk-zang, ter gedagtenisse van den aflyvigen méde-borger Joannes Henricus Matthey [1796]. This is a digital text edition of a funeral song for Johannes Henricus Matthey, a city surgeon and doctor in Antwerp, published by the Stichting Vrijwilligersnetwerk Nederlandse Taal (SVNT) that aims to provide information in and / or about the Dutch language in the past and present and to make Dutch-language heritage accessible to everyone.
