25 March: Launch guidebooks for heritage institutions

4 February 2021

On 25 March, three handy Dutch tools are launched simultaneously to keep digital information sustainably accessible. These are ‘Wegwijzer Certification’, ‘Wegwijzer Voorkeursformaten’ and ‘Wegwijzer Duurzaamheidsbeleid’. As of this year, the ‘Wegwijzer Certification’ is maintained by DANS.

The three guidebooks have all been developed within the Dutch Digital Heritage Network (NDE). In 2021, the maintenance of the guides will be transferred by the NDE. The Wegwijzer Certification, managed by DANS, supports institutions in setting up and implementing a certification process. The focus here is on CoreTrustSeal certification. The Wegwijzer Duurzaamheidsbeleid, managed by the Cultural Heritage Agency, offers help in drawing up a sustainability policy. This allows heritage institutions to build their policy step-by-step in a way that fits in with the structure of their own organisation and the digital information under their management. The Wegwijzer Voorkeursformaten offers an overview of file formats used by heritage institutions and helps institutions to set up a policy on preferred formats via an interactive step-by-step plan.

Join this interactive event on 25 March between 11:00 and 16:00 hrs, when the guides are launched by NDE with a Q&A followed by three workshops.
