18-02-2021: workshop on (geo)data and the European Data Strategy

15 February 2021

Curious about the possibilities and challenges with regard to geodata in relation to the European Data Strategy? Please join us at the online NCG workshop on February 18. Registration is still possible.

From satellite observations, the position of the gas pipes in streets, to GPS data for health research, geodata plays an important role in science and many applied fields.

The Netherlands Center for Geodesy and Geo-Informatics (NCG) co-ordinates and initiates research in geodesy and geo-information in the Netherlands. The “Geo-Information Infrastructure” committee of the NCG organizes an online workshop on what the European Data Strategy will or can mean for geodata.

During the workshop the following subjects are discussed: How are science, industry and government preparing for this strategy? What are the opportunities? What would we like to realize ourselves on a national level? Speakers represent the European Commission and several organizations and departments at the national level. Ingrid Dillo, deputy director at DANS, sketches the perspective from science.

The main language of the workshop will be Dutch.
