EHRI stands for European Holocaust Research Infrastructure. EHRI 3 is the successor to the EHRI and EHRI 2 projects (2010 – 2019), of which DANS was also a part.
Within EHRI 3, 25 organisations – archives, libraries, museums and research institutes – from several countries cooperate in the field of Holocaust studies and digital humanities. In addition, a large network of cooperating partners contributes to the project. The most important goal of EHRI 3 is to make the collections about the Holocaust that are spread in different countries accessible through one portal, and to support scientific research about the Holocaust.
In this project, DANS is involved in innovation strategy, training and education (seminars and Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)) and the writing of a Data Management Plan for EHRI 3. DANS will also update the metadata of the ‘Holocaust’ datasets from the data archive EASY to the EHRI portal.
Also, from October 1, 2020 to May 31, 2023, the EHRI Preparatory Phase (PP) project will run, laying the foundation for the necessary legal, financial and strategic work that will transform EHRI from a project to a permanent organisation. Here DANS contributes to the training strategy and a services register, and to the writing of a Data Management Plan (DMP) for the permanent organisation EHRI.
