Information session: What can DANS contribute to your NWA-ORC project?

Event date:

24 June 2024

Location: Online

We believe that our services could be useful to the consortiums planning to submit a NWA-ORC proposal. In this session, we present the DANS services in the light of the NWA-ORC. We invite researchers from all disciplines involved in one or more of the NWA-ORC routes to join this event.

About the Dutch Research Agenda (Nationale Wetenschapsagenda, or NWA)
Citizens are at the heart of creating and renewing the Dutch Research Agenda. The link between society and science is a key element of the NWA programme. Governments, researchers, civil society organisations and citizens work together to develop and use knowledge to achieve scientific and societal impact. And through science communication, knowledge is shared in society to increase engagement and trust in science.

In the annual NWA-ORC funding round, consortia can submit proposals that provide a joint expression of the breadth and innovative character of the NWA. The funding round is aimed at facilitating research that leads to societal and/or scientific breakthroughs. The consortia are interdisciplinary and knowledge-chain-wide; relevant societal partners are also represented. The proposals concern one or more NWA routes.

DANS
DANS is the Dutch national centre of expertise and repository for research data and one of the infrastructure providers in the Dutch scientific landscape. We offer data sharing, archiving and publishing services including domain-specific Data Stations and DataverseNL, a data repository service for institutes. DANS is also involved in training and advice around Research Data Management, FAIR data and Open Science. With our services and expertise we are involved in various (inter) national projects, developing and improving the available scientific infrastructure in the Netherlands and beyond.

We believe our services might be of great use to most consortiums planning to submit a NWA-ORC proposal. In this session, we present the DANS services in the light of the NWA-ORC.

We invite researchers from all disciplines involved in one or more of the NWA-ORC routes to join this event. We will present the services DANS offers, as well as previous projects related to the NWA DANS has been involved in. There will be ample room for questions and discussion of ideas to support the NWA-ORC initiatives.
