Praise for FAIRsFAIR and project coordinator DANS

17 February 2021

“The project has fully achieved its objectives and milestones for this period and has delivered exceptional results with significant immediate or potential impact”. These are some of the absolute admirable words from the mid-term review of the European Horizon 2020-project FAIRsFAIR.

Ingrid Dillo, Deputy Director DANS and Project Coordinator FAIRsFAIR: “FAIRsFAIR is one of the Horizon 2020 projects for the implementation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). This project review report covers the first eighteen months, and is a big thumbs up for all partners involved. The outputs of our project are of direct relevance to European research policy and practice. The report underlines this, and states that the ‘project should be commended in particular for its efficient, harmonious and responsive project management, the internal collaboration across work packages and tasks, and the substantial and successful efforts to bring external initiatives into dialogue across the European research data landscape. The progress of all activities – objectives, deliverables, milestones, dissemination, communication and use of resources – are on target, and are high quality.’ With this feedback, we step with strengthened confidence into the remaining project period, in which of course the given recommendations will also be included.”

FAIRsFAIR

Fostering Fair Data Practices in Europe aims to supply practical solutions for the use of the FAIR data principles throughout the research data life cycle. Emphasis is on fostering FAIR data culture and the uptake of good practices in making data FAIR. The project is a broad European partnership of 22 partners, five of which are based in the Netherlands: SURF, Sparc Europe, Dutch Techcentre for Life Sciences, University of Amsterdam and DANS (project coordinator).
