PID NL: a workshop on the use of persistent identifiers in the Netherlands

12 August 2019

RDA-NL in collaboration with 4TU, DataCite, Freya, ORCID, and SURF would like to invite you to a workshop focused on Persistent Identifiers (PIDs). The workshop takes place on November 20th, at the NWO building in The Hague and is organised for information specialists, librarians, repository managers, CRIS managers, policy makers, and everyone else interested in PIDs.

Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) are an important component of Open Science and FAIR data practices. PIDs ensure that entities within the research workflow are discoverable, citable, comprehensible, and connected.

In this workshop, an overview of the value of PIDs and the different PID types available will be provided, followed by demonstrations of PID implementations and examples of how to successfully increase PID awareness. Also some break out groups are formed to start exploring what PIDs can do for you or your institution.
