ODISSEI’s scientific speeddate and LISS call

20 June 2019

ODISSEI organises a scientific speeddate during the 5th International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC2S2). Furthermore, ODISSEI has repeated the 2018 call ‘Collect new data in the LISS panel’.

IC2S2

The 5th International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC2S2) will be held in Amsterdam from 17 to 20 July 2019. ODISSEI is a sponsor of IC2S2 and will be hosting a ‘scientific speed date’ on Monday 15 July, as a warming-up for the conference. Researchers working with the ODISSEI Secure Supercomputer (previously known as the ODISSEI Data Facility) will also be present at this networking event.

Participation is free of charge. This event will take place in Amsterdam and will start at 5pm.
Don’t miss this stimulating opportunity to meet up with interesting researchers from computational social science!

LISS panel

After the success of the first call in 2018, this year ODISSEI repeats the call Collect data in the LISS panel. In this call, researchers at one of the ODISSEI member organisations can apply for free data collection through the LISS panel. Be sure to apply before 15 September 2019 23:59h!

This panel, managed by CentERdata, consists of some 7,000 individuals from approximately 4,500 households. At least five projects will be granted access to the LISS Panel, each receiving a net response of 2,500 respondents and 15 minutes of panel time, which implies about 40 question items for simple (‘yes/no’) questions. In case more respondents are requested or needed, required panel time needs to be cut down.
