Now available: collection of archaeological data Batavialand

21 May 2021

Stichting Batavialand has digitised the paper (naval) archaeological excavation documentation of the former maritime depot of the Cultural Heritage Agency. This special collection is now fully accessible via DANS.

The dataset mainly includes records of wrecks found in Flevoland such as during the reclamation of the Wieringermeer and the Noordoostpolder. It concerns valuable and unique source documentation of wrecks dating from the Iron Age to the beginning of the 20th century. The wreck files contain, among other things, notification slips, correspondence, situational sketches, lists of finds, internal reports and various visual materials.
