13 February 2020

Do you want to professionalise in the field of data support? Follow the renewed “Essentials 4 Data Support” course and learn the art of good data management and data preservation. This course has been contributing to the professionalisation of data supporters in the Netherlands and the rest of the world for years. Register now for the course rounds in 2020.

Essentials 4 Data Support is an introductory course for those who (want to) support researchers in storing, managing, archiving and sharing their research data.

The course has recently been expanded with, among other things, information about the latest technical data developments, legal issues (GDPR) and overarching themes such as FAIR and Open data and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

The success formula of the extensive course is the combination of online self-study with days in which the students receive information from guest speakers and various assignments to be made by themselves. Two coaches continuously guide the students and provide continuous feedback on questions and the assignments made.

The course is relevant for employees of libraries or the data support departments of research and educational institutions, but also for policy advisers and IT specialists.

The course is available in Dutch and English, as a simple online module or as an extensive course with guidance.

Register now for one of the course rounds in 2020, get started with data support and make new interesting contacts. The course rounds for 2020 are planned in the months of May – June (almost full) and November – December. In-company versions are also available by appointment.

The course is an initiative of Research Data Netherlands (RDNL), a joint venture of DANS, SURF and 4TU.Centre for Research Data.
