“The public exchange of scientific data will only proceed if scientists are encouraged and valued for it”, says Henk Wals, director of the DANS institute. “Thanks to the open science movement, 60% of the publications of scientists in the Netherlands are now publicly available. However, the percentage of openly accessible scientific datasets seems to be much lower.”
