Use DataverseNL in 3 steps

DataverseNL is a research data repository offered jointly by DANS and participating institutions. DANS manages the technical infrastructure. The institutions using DataverseNL are responsible for assigning permissions to user accounts, managing and curating the deposited research data within DataverseNL.

It takes 3 simple steps to make use of DataverseNL:

Step 1

Create an account for DataverseNL via the ‘Log in’ tab at the top right or via this page. In most cases, your institution uses SURFconext, which allows you to log in to dataverse.nl with your institutional account. To do so, use the ‘Log in with Your Institution’ button. If you cannot use SURFconext, please use the ‘Other Options’ button.

You can now request restricted data. Open access data can also be downloaded without an account.

Step 2

If you want to deposit and/or publish research data in DataverseNL, please contact your institution. They can give you permissions to create a dataset and upload data files. Your institution determines which rights you will get. They often follow their own manual and procedures.

Step 3

Datasets can only be deposited within your own institute’s Dataverse. When you have questions about using DataverseNL after creating an account and receiving permissions from your institution:
