DANS trains Israeli data supporters in Research Data Management

23 March 2021

Under the banner of the EOSC-hub project, in which DANS takes care of disseminating good data practices, over 80 Israeli participants were introduced to FAIR data, open science practices, and the developments around the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

As a spin-off of OpenAIRE activities and the network of national OpenAIRE nodes, a webinar was initiated by the libraries of Bar-Ilan University (Ramat Gan, Israel). Data supporters from various Israeli universities and libraries formed the target group of this introductory event. On 16 March 2021, DANS trainers Elly Dijk and Cees Hof provided a two-session webinar touching upon the most recent developments around FAIR and open data. Proper research data management (RDM), data management planning, as well as the development of EOSC, were demonstrated and discussed.

For many participants, it was their first acquaintance with these subjects. Both the organisers and DANS will look for opportunities to continue these joint training and dissemination activities.
