Europeana Archaeology

Increasing quality, discoverability and reusability of Europeana content

Status: Completed
Duration: 2019 - 2020
Contact: Hella Hollander M.A.

Within the European project “Europeana Archaeology”, 16 partners from 14 European countries work together to improve the quality, findability and reusability of archaeological data from the Europeana thematic collection. A key objective of the “Europeana Archaeology” project is to support cultural institutions and other public and private partners in creating metadata and adding content such as high-quality images.

DANS contributes to this with the e-depot for Dutch Archaeology, including the opening up of the PAN database, so that these Dutch finds can also be displayed and investigated in a European context. An example is a massively cast figurine of a wild boar.

This project is co-financed by the “Connecting Europe Facility” of the European Union.
