4C stands for The Collaboration to Clarify the Costs of Curation. Cost models in the digital archiving domain are still scarce, usually inadequate and barely integrated with each other, or hardly known. 4C is working on a ‘Curation Costs Exchange framework’. 4C’s target is to help European organisations with investing more effectively in data management and long-term data storage. DANS is a 4C participant.
