The third edition of the Open Science Netherlands Barcamp, the satellite event of the National Open Science Festival, invites open science enthusiasts and gives them a space to share, promote, and discuss ideas and topics related to open science. The day ends with a pizza party for everyone attending.

This Dutch festival is for the entire open science community and beyond. Professional research support staff and researchers across all disciplines are invited. The day will be full of interactive sessions, a keynote speaker, an information market, and plenty of opportunities to mingle and meet. The programme will follow soon. Registration is now open for this sixth edition.

PIDfest, an international conference organized by SURF, is hosted on 27-29 October. PID-fans, users and decision makers join workshops, talks and other events focused on fostering collaboration on persistent identifiers (PIDs).

The (English) Essentials for Data Support course is an introductory hybrid programme for professionals entering research data management (RDM) support. It combines foundational knowledge, practical experience, online learning and assignments. The course includes two in-person days: 17 September 2026 at TU Delft and 10 November 2026 at SURF in Utrecht. Participants who complete the full course will receive a certificate.

The GDPR 4 Data Support (GDPR4DS) course is an introductory course designed for data supporters who want to understand more about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the context of research and want to strengthen their role in protecting personal data. The course providing foundational knowledge, tools, and practical experience to assist researchers in managing their data. Along with online learning and assignments, the course includes two in-person days, held on 1 October 2026, and 17 November 2026 at DANS, The Hague. Participants who complete the full course will receive a certificate.

The ODISSEI conference seeks to bring together a community of computational social scientists to discuss data, methods, infrastructure, policy application, ethics and theoretical work related to digital and computational approaches in social science research. This year's edition marks the 10-year anniversary of ODISSEI.

The 21st edition of the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) is all about FAIR DO's: Centring People in the Stewardship and Curation of Digital Objects. In an era of artificial intelligence, the acknowledgment of the role of people in the work of making digital objects FAIR is crucial. This includes the labour involved, how it is recognised, supported, and the values that guide this work.
