Update FAIR and open science resources

26 March 2026

The DANS Training Team organises its activities around core themes. Each theme brings together relevant knowledge and materials for the community, making it easier for researchers and data professionals to find appropriate support. One of the central themes is FAIR and open science.

Within this theme, DANS brings together reflection on developments, such as a decade of the FAIR principles, with a curated selection of training and learning resources. These resources support theapplication of FAIR in practice, ranging from introductory guidance to more advanced topics such as data curation, qualitative data and handling sensitive data. The Open & FAIR data page has been extended with an overview of these materials.

It includes tools to assess your knowledge, such as FAIR-Aware, introductory modules developed in international collaboration, and additional eLearning via platforms such as OpenPlato. The page alsoprovides resources for specific use cases, including reproducible research, qualitative data and ethical considerations in sharing sensitive data.

All materials are openly available and published under a CC-BY licence, supporting reuse in training and institutional contexts. In this way, DANS contributes to a more consistent and practice-orientedapproach to FAIR and research data management.

The DANS Training Team combines expertise in research data management, FAIR and data curation, and works closely with national and international partners to develop reusable training materials.

Explore the full overview of themes, materials and activities on the DANS Training Team page and find resources that match your needs.
