This year it will be held at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum from 30 September to 5 October 2019. The entire week is devoted to the sharing of knowledge and experiences in the field of audiovisual archiving.
The Annual Conference of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) was established in Amsterdam in 1969 and serves as a medium for international cooperation between audiovisual archives. The preliminary program is available online. Visit the conference website for information about the conference, such as the program, the location, travel advice, events, information about workshops and tutorials. Please note that the registration rate for ‘early birds’ ends on 2 September 2019.
The Joint Technical Symposium (JTS) is the international scientific and technical symposium on matters of particular importance for audiovisual archives and archivists. It offers experts in the field of audiovisual archiving from different backgrounds the opportunity to come together, to share new and emerging technical developments in our field and to take positions that go beyond borders. It is an opportunity to inform each other about what is going on in the field. Organized every few years since 1983 by the various associations of audiovisual archives that now form the CCAAA, it offers an opportunity for colleagues around the world and those interested in the field to meet and share information about preserving original visual and audio material. Keep an eye on the website for all information.
