Launch of the NDE Certification Network

18 November 2024

On November 7, World Digital Preservation Day, the new NDE Netwerk Certificering (Network Certification) was launched. Become a member and discuss the trustworthiness and sustainability of your archive!

This year’s World Digital Preservation Day focused on communities (‘Preserving Our Digital Content: Celebrating Communities’). A new network was launched entirely in line with this theme. The NDE Netwerk Certificering is intended for the interactive exchange of knowledge and experiences with CoreTrustSeal (CTS) as its primary focus. The Network focuses on Dutch cultural heritage institutions that are interested in or are in the process of (re)certifying their digital repository.

The NDE Netwerk Certificering is an initiative of the expert group around the ‘Wegwijzer Certificering that is hosted by DANS. Following various events and exchanges within the Dutch digital heritage community on the topic of certification, a clear desire emerged to have an easier way for dynamic interaction and knowledge sharing in addition to the static information and tips of the Wegwijzer Certificering.

During the NDE event ‘Tools on Tour’, which was organised on World Digital Preservation Day, the Network was introduced to the public and the first members could register. During the session, first impressions and suggestions were discussed for the Network, which will organise its first meeting in early 2025.
