Join PATTERN’s introductory open science event for beginner researchers

24 November 2025

PATTERN’s event on 4 December is developed for early-stage researchers to learn about essentials of open science: Open Access, Dissemination & Exploitation and FAIR RDM.

Are you a researcher at the start of your career and are you interested in open science? Join PATTERN’s online event on the morning of 4 December 2025.
In three sessions, you’ll learn the essentials of open science. After this event, you will:

  • Be familiar with the FAIR principles,
  • Understand how these principles connect to practical RDM steps such as Data Management Plans, and
  • Have basic knowledge of Open Access publishing and open data.

The event kicks off with the workshop ‘Open Access for Beginner Researchers’, followed by ‘Dissemination and Exploitation from a Horizon perspective’. DANS’ers Deborah Thorpe and Michelle van den Berk wrap up the program by hosting an introductory workshop on FAIR Research Data Management, providing you with a fundamental toolkit for doing and sharing research “as open as possible, as closed as necessary”.

PATTERN is a collaborative project funded by Horizon Europe: the European Union’s funding programme for research and innovation. PATTERN promotes the practice of Open and Responsible Research and Innovation by developing and piloting training activities for researchers at all stages of their careers. DANS contributes to this project as a repository, expert for FAIR data and as a partner.

There are only 30 spots available for the event, make sure to sign up through this link.
