The World Data System (WDS) is an Interdisciplinary Body of the International Council for Science (ICSU). WDS was created in 2008 as a successor of the World Data Centres. WDS promotes access to, and long-term stewardship of, scientific data, data services, products, and information. The goal of WDS is to create and coordinate global ‘communities of excellence’ for scientific data services, for example by certifying members of the WDS according to international recognized standards. Ingrid Dillo is member of the Scientific Committee 2015-2018.
