On 16 September, the DataverseNL community gathered in Utrecht to celebrate the service’s 10th anniversary. More than 70 professionals took part, reflecting on a decade of growth, innovation and collaboration.
The programme highlighted both achievements and future opportunities. Discussions covered sustaining open data and their infrastructures, FAIR data quality and standard operating procedures, meaningful metrics for DataverseNL repositories, CoreTrustSeal-certification, and the integration of DataverseNL into the wider RDM infrastructure landscape.
Through inspiring keynotes and interactive workshops, participants explored ways to enhance the use of DataverseNL, build on FAIR data practices, and strengthen collaboration across institutions. They shared examples of how DataverseNL is used at their institutions, showcased achievements and addressed ongoing challenges. The lively sessions encouraged the exchange of ideas, led to valuable new connections within the community and reinforced the collaborative spirit that has sustained DataverseNL for a decade. A special moment during the event was the recognition of Marion Wittenberg’s valuable work as the DataverseNL service manager since its inception at DANS. She recently retired. Her successor, Kristine Racina, is excited and eager to continue developing the service and to engage with the community in the months ahead. You can reach Kristine at .
