Want to learn how to increase the visibility, reuse and impact of your research? In a series of five online workshops we’ll show you how you can manage your research data, to apply the FAIR principles and know how to include them in your data management routines.

Want to learn how to increase the visibility, reuse and impact of your research? We created an interactive training that will step you through the aspects of Research Data Management (RDM), based on the FAIR principles (to make data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable).

In a series of five online workshops we’ll show you how you can manage your research data, to apply the FAIR principles and know how to include them in your data management routines. 

September 3rd – 10.00 – 12.30 
Workshop 1: What is FAIR RDM and why should we use it? (beginner level)
Understand the relation between FAIR, Open Data and Research Data Management

September 10th – 10.00 – 12.00 
Workshop 2: Introduction to RDM and Data Management Plans (DMP) (beginner level)
Know what the relevance is of a DMP and how to create one

September 17th – 10.00 – 12.00
Workshop 3: Getting started with putting FAIR RDM into practice (beginner level)
Outline the relevance and role of metadata and file formats

September 24th – 10.00 – 12.00 
Workshop 4: A deeper dive into FAIR RDM part 1 (intermediate level)
Know how to apply persistent identifiers, trusted repositories and “semantic artefacts”

October 1st – 10.00 – 12.00
Workshop 5: A deeper dive into FAIR RDM part 2 (intermediate level)
Focus on data discovery, intellectual property, copyright, licensing and GDPR

Throughout and between the workshops, you will apply your new knowledge and skills to a Use Case that is relevant to your specific domain.  

The training program is free of charge and is open to researchers at Dutch Universities, Universities of Applied Science and other Dutch research institutions, of all disciplines and career stages. The expected workload of the program is about 25 hours  

The training will be delivered by research data experts from DANS and is part of the PATTERN project, where experts from all across Europe work together to create training for various Open Science domains.
