His idea on “contextualizing archeological objects” aims to connect archeological reports, stored at DANS archives, to archaeological objects from specific excavations through Linked Data. Furthermore, Jerry’s idea allows object classification, places, and subjects to be linked to one another as well. The panel of judges said: “This idea brings many archives together and shows the power of linked data”.
Jerry de Vries is information specialist at DANS and participates within the CLARIAH project. One of his many specialties is Linked Open Data (LOD).
