DANS was invited to give a guest lecture at the University of Amsterdam focused on depositing interviews and oral history data in the DANS Data Station Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH). The materials presented in this event can now be viewed and reused via Zenodo.

DANS Data Manager Widia Mahabier gave a guest lecture at the University of Amsterdam in January of this year for the Master’s Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage for the module on Oral History and Artwork Life Stories. The presentation focused on depositing interviews and oral history data in DANS Data Station SSH and making this data available for reuse.

The event included an introduction to the OH-SMArt project, providing an overview of its discipline-specific metadata entry form and a pipelineworkflow for filing oral history data, and additional oral history metadata.

To widen access to DANS’ training and educational materials, the slides and , workshop materials have been shared in Zenodo by Widia, together with OH-SMArt project leader Sanneke Stigter. These are archived along with a Step-by-Step Guide for Archiving Interviews for Conservation Research and a template for collecting metadata for these types of data in Dutch and English.

Explore these materials for yourself, and consider reusing them in your own educational and training activities under the CC-BY 4.0 licence: Mahabier, W., Data Archiving and Networked Services, & Stigter, S.
