Use Data Stations – step by step<\/h1>\n

The DANS Data Stations are the domain-specific repositories from DANS where you can find data for reuse and deposit your data.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The metadata of all datasets in the Data Stations are freely available to search through. Anyone can download open access files for reuse without creating an account. To ask permission for accessing files under \u2018restricted access\u2019 or to deposit data, you need to register in our Data Station. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you wish to request access to data or deposit data in one of our Data Stations, you can follow the steps below:<\/span><\/p>\n

Create account\u00a0<\/h3>\n

Create an account in the Data Station via the \u2018Log in\u2019 tab at the top right. You can use various options to log in. We advise the use of an ORCID-account or to use your institutional account through SURFConext (\u2018Log in with Institutional Account\u2019).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You also have the option to log in with a Github or Google account. Depositors who used to have an account in EASY can also use the Username\/Email\u2019 option.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the creation of an account you agree to the <\/span>Terms of Use<\/span><\/a> of the Data Stations and its <\/span>processing addendum<\/span><\/a>. The policies of the Data Stations are further described in the <\/span>DANS Data Stations Policy<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Request data<\/h3>\n

Once you have logged into the Data Station you can ask permission to download files which are deposited under restricted access.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you wish to deposit data in our Data Stations, please first check our <\/span>selection policy<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If your dataset complies with our selection policy, you can follow the steps outlined in our <\/span>deposit manual<\/span><\/a>. In this manual we take you through everything you need to know – <\/span>before<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>during<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>after<\/span><\/a> deposit. You will find information about our metadata, data formats and publication options, as well as the conditions of use of our service.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
