The Netherlands and the European Union have been pursuing Open Science policies since the first half of the 2010s. Ambitions were formulated regarding\u00a0 Open and FAIR Access to research outputs, such as publications, data and software.<\/span><\/p>\n

DANS collects information on core developments in Open Science, and participates in numerous Open Science projects, such as <\/span>EOSC Future<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>EOSC-Synergy<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>FAIRsFAIR<\/span><\/a>, and other collaborations<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This page presents metrics on Open Science and on the Dutch data landscape we are collecting and analysing. We also refer to selected reports and online information presented elsewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dutch Open Science Dashboard 2020-202<\/span>2<\/span><\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

This is the <\/span>second<\/span> annual update (202<\/span>2<\/span>) of the dashboard we <\/span>published<\/span> <\/span>for the first time in 2020<\/span>. The trend towards open science <\/span>is<\/span> demonstrated in numbers and figures<\/span>. The increase in Open Access to journal articles has come to a standstill, while most indicators for improved access to research data are positive.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is the first annual update (2021) of the dashboard we prepared last year. Dutch Open Science Dashboard 2020<\/b><\/a><\/h2>\n

This is the first Open Science dashboard presented by DANS, for which a selection was made of the figures collected in the landscape analysis prepared in the context of the <\/span>EOSC-Synergy<\/span><\/a> project (see below). <\/span><\/p>\n

Data are presented on the main \u201cinfrastructures\u201d, \u201cfacilities\u201d and \u201crepositories\u201d according to a variety of sources, ranging from the <\/span>NWO Roadmap<\/span><\/a> of large-scale facilities to <\/span>ESFRI<\/span><\/a>, and from<\/span> Re3Data<\/span><\/a> to <\/span>Meril<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

EOSC Synergy Dutch Landscape Analysis (2020)<\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n

EOSC Synergy<\/span><\/a> is one of the regional projects preparing the ground for the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), in which seven countries, among which the Netherlands, collaborate. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2019-2020, the project undertook a <\/span>landscape analysis<\/span><\/a> in each of the participating countries. <\/span><\/p>\n

Analysis of the content and use of the DANS data repositories (2007-2019)<\/h2>\n

In February 2020, a special issue of the German journal \u201c<\/span>Der Archivar<\/a>\u201d (<\/span>Vol. 73, Nr. 1<\/span><\/a>), on the archiving of research data contained an article presenting core metrics on <\/span>DANS<\/span><\/a> (p. 44-50).<\/span><\/p>\n
