Storing, registering and sharing research data online, both during the research and after it is completed. That is DataverseNL.
DataverseNL is a service that is jointly offered by the participating institutions and DANS. DataverseNL uses the Dataverse software developed by Harvard University. This software is used by 70 organisations worldwide.
Since 2014, DANS manages the technical infrastructure. The participating institutions are responsible for the management of the deposited data in their dataverses within DataverseNL. All institutions are represented in the advisory board, which determines the policy of the service. The local dataverse managers regularly exchange experiences and work together to develop good best practices for Research Data Management (RDM).
Institutions pay a fixed fee for their participation in DataverseNL. The contribution for 2022 is €5,125 ex VAT. In addition, storage costs for the data are charged (€ 295, – (excluding VAT.) per Terabyte (TB) per year).
