Verrijkt Koninkrijk stands for a searchable version of the “Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in de Tweede Wereldoorlog” (“Kingdom of the Netherlands in World War II”) book series. With language technology and semantic web technologies, Dr. L. de Jong’s famous work “Het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in de Tweede Wereldoorlog” has been made effectively searchable. This CLARIN project studied how the compartmentalisation of Dutch society resonates in De Jong’s words. Different core concepts such as individuals and events have also been linked to information from other digital sources, such as Wikipedia. DANS has contributed to the CLARIN metadata and archiving both the (semantically enriched) XML and the PDF version of the Kingdom.
