Persistent identifiers are a necessity for being able to refer to a digital object in a sustainable manner. There are different models and “flavours”. PersID aims for a better harmonisation and an umbrella resolver service for persistent identifiers (both European and in the Netherlands). As custodian of the Dutch URN resolver, DANS acts as a link in the Dutch service sector.
