Ingrid Dillo has served as the Treasurer for the CoreTrustSeal Board since 2018, the very beginning of the foundation. Ingrid: “DANS stood at the cradle of CoreTrustSeal, because we believe in the importance of trustworthy repositories. The success of CoreTrustSeal over the years shows that this community-driven, peer-reviewed certification mechanism for repositories provides an important building block of our global research infrastructure.” After serving the maximum number of terms on the Board, she will now step down.
Since January 2024, Maaike Verburg has joined the CoreTrustSeal Board. She was elected in the recent elections, which were held at the end of 2024, and will continue to serve on the Board as Treasurer. Maaike: “I appreciate the community-driven character of CoreTrustSeal and I am happy to have the opportunity to contribute to the Board to help more interested repositories become certified.” Maaike has experience supporting repositories towards certification from projects like FAIRsFAIR and FAIR-IMPACT and initiatives like the CESSDA Trust Group.
Another Dutch representative in the new Board is Marjan Hartsuiker from the Heritage Centre Zutphen. The full Board can be found on the CoreTrustSeal website.
About CoreTrustSeal Board
CoreTrustSeal is an international, community based, non-governmental, and non-profit organisation that offers to any interested data repository a certification for being trustworthy. The CoreTrustSeal Standards and Certification Board is responsible for the development and maintenance of the CoreTrustSeal certification criteria and processes, and for the final approval of certifications. Every three years, elections are held amongst the Assembly of Reviewers to identify twelve Board members, who can then take part in the Board for a maximum of two terms.
